About The Author

Mankad is born on 13 February 1928 at Paliyad village of Bhavnagar district, Gujarat, India. He studied B. A. and worked a teacher in highschool at Botad. Later he settled at Surendranagar and took freelance writing. He served as the first chairman of Gujarat Sahitya Academy from 1984 to 1992. He was a member of Gujarat Public Service Commission from 1984 to 1990. He was also member of Senate of Gujarat University.
