About The Author

Janice Maynard came to the writing life early! When her third grade short story, “The Princess and the Robbers”, won a red ribbon in a school arts fair, Janice was hooked. She followed up that early success with a more commercial piece in the sixth grade… “Why My Mom Loves To Drink Coke”. No advance for that one, but she won a six-pack of Coke… remember those great little bottles.

In junior high Janice began circulating her work to a wider audience. A dozen or so notebook pages stapled together made the rounds in some particularly boring classes, with the riveting tales carefully hidden behind textbooks.

High school meant the big time… editor of the school newspaper, the Maroon and White. Janice used her insightful editorials to delve into such meaty subjects as “locker room odor” and “why we need two-ply tissue in the student bathrooms”.

College brought lots of writing, but very little of it creative… four years later, Janice stepped into the adult world as a fully certified elementary teacher.

Despite motherhood, full-time employment, and keeping up with an “always into something” husband, Janice never lost her love of writing or the desire to be published. In 1996 she realized her long-time dream when Kensington Publishing bought her first book, Sweetheart. That exciting moment was followed by the sales of two more books in the Precious Gem line.

In the fall of 2002, Janice left the classroom to pursue writing full-time.

Ellie and her brother, Kirby, are back in town to help care for their grandpa temporarily. Their family had left when they were younger to go to South America. Now that they were back, Ellie asks to Conor if he could do a favor for her. Kirby had an accident that caused him to lose his foot. This same accident killed Ellie’s husband–right before she found out she was pregnant with his child. (Can you see what I mean about being heavy on the feels??) Ellie and Conor spend time together, and the desire they felt before is still there. Unfortunately, there are new things blocking their path–with everything Ellie has been through in recent times, she hasn’t come to terms with it fully. And Conor hasn’t completely changed–he still wants to push the limits. Will their feelings help them find a way?Second Chance with the Billionaire is a feels heavy, sweet love story. You don’t anticipate it coming in, but it hits you in the heart and pulls you into their lives even more. You care for every character, not just Ellie and Conor. Janice Maynard really brings it with the latest book in the Kavanaghs of Silver Glen series!

Ellie Porter and her brother Kirby are back in Sliver Glen to care for their grandfather and give Kirby a chance to heal from the accident that cost him a limb. Conor might just be what Kirby needs to get him out of the funk he’s been in since the accident. Ellie lost her husband in the same accident, only to find out that she was pregnant after his death and has not had a chance to deal with her feelings but maybe a brief fling with Conor is just what she needs.SECOND CHANCE WITH THE BILLIONAIRE is very emotional and heartwarming, dealing with loss and grief, how the characters deal with these emotions and the ultimate healing power of love. Ms. Maynard’s characters are everyday people who have attained some success and have all gone through tragedy but still held onto the values they were brought up with.

Very good reunion story. After a devastating accident that ended Conor’s dreams of competition he set his eyes on different challenges. One of them is being part of the family business and making his ski resort one of the best. When he hears that his childhood friends, Ellie and Kirby Porter are back in town he’s happy, but also wary. His teenage crush on Ellie had ended badly when she wanted him to choose between his risky activities and her, so he’s surprised when she comes to him for help.

Second Chance with the Billionaire is a very heart-warming story. It brought so many emotions to the table that many people deal with in everyday life. I was able to connect with Kirby and Ellie so easily, watching a loved one slip away is so incredibly hard to do, and Janice has the emotions spot on. It was a emotionally charged read for sure, but I was hoping for forgiveness for each other and forgiveness for oneself more throughout the entire book. The pages were turning quickly as I was engaged and couldn’t wait to see how the plot would turn out. The characters were fantastic, there were introductions to minor characters, however the details focusing on major characters was incredible. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Janice Maynard’s, Second Chance with the Billionaire and would love to know more about the Kavanagh family.

This was a wonderful story of a relationship that started from the time that they were teenagers but something happened. Conor Kavanagh was a man that loved the rush or adventure and Ellie Porter was a woman that wanted for him to threatening his life with dangerous situations. But then Conor had an accident that ended his dreams and the day he came out of surgery she told him she couldn’t be with him. Soon after that her parents told her and her twin that they were leaving to South America. Now she is back in Silver Glen and she needed to talk to Conor because she needed his help.Second Chance with the Billionaire was an exceptional read. I loved seeing some of the other characters from the other stories. Both of these characters were well developed. These two were a perfect match for each other. She is a strong independent woman. Now Conor is a passionate strong man that loves Ellie. He is a man that has not stopped thinking about her. The sex scenes are well written and very hot. This is a very sweet romantic story.
