HAMALIAN-Leo. Died November 8, 2003 at 83. For more than 40 years beloved CCNY English professor; dean of guidance at CCNY and dean of academic affairs at California Institute of the Arts; distinguished author or editor of more than 25 books and well over 150 articles; Fulbright or exchange scholar at Universities of Damascus, Tehran, Hamburg and Paris; for 31 years editor of the literary quarterly Ararat. He is mourned by his wife, Linda, of Manhattan, as well as by sons Derek of Hilliard, OH, and Jeffrey of Ridgefield Park, NJ; daughter Leslie H. Kaiser of Temple, ME, and six grandchildren. Private services. Donations may be made to Amnesty International.
