This was a wonderful story of new beginnings. Mitch left a successful career as a Hollywood plastic surgeon to make a new life for he and his daughter. He spends most of his time either working or with Mia. It’s a bit lonely, but it protects his heart from being hurt again. Grace is another plastic surgeon who has come to London, also for a new beginning. They meet one evening and start talking, going on to have an amusing time together. Nothing deep is talked about and they only exchange first names, never expecting to see each other again. To their surprise, they discover that they will be working together, Grace having just been hired to work at the Hunter Clinic. Neither is looking for a relationship, but they just can’t seem to stop thinking about each other. The fears that both Mitch and Grace had felt realistic to me. I loved seeing how well they connected, the hope that they felt, but also the wariness that made each of them try to hold back. I also liked the tone of their conversations, whether they were being a little silly or talking about their work. I loved Grace’s ease with Mia and seeing how that helped Mitch open himself up to the possibilities. I also loved the way that Mitch showed Grace that it was her spirit that he had fallen for, that the outside really didn’t matter. I really enjoyed the ending.

Lynne Marshall is one of those authors that has always been able to truly speak to me through her books. She takes ordinary everyday stories of romance and turns them in to the extraordinary! In her latest read we meet Micthell Cooper, once he had it all, a beautiful wife, adorable daughter and a high class living it up Hollywood career, then reality came crashing through the golden doors and he moved to London with his little girl to try and rebuild their lives. The characters in this read were so powerful they captured my attention from start to finish. From the first introductions I was completely obsessed with them all, I craved the insight into their minds, aches and hurts so badly, and knowing this author has the ability to give it all with amazing flair I knew all I had to do was keep reading and I would walk away with everything I craved. Through the character of Michell I learned that when life gets you down and all that you had seems lost to the perfect existence you carved out for yourself it really is not the end of the world, it is simply a chance to rebuild your life into something more spectacular then what you had. It might seem that everything you had was perfect but when you look back you will see it was simply a mirage of perfection, the true life of wonder lies in the secret of knowing when you find the true perfect things in life. I am taking away a message of everything in life happens for a reason, bad or good it is all part of the plan to shape us in to the people we need to be. I highly recommend this read for all fans of romance reads, it was passionate, heartfelt and so wonderfully emotional it will remain with me for all my life!

When people suffer through a physical trauma or an emotional ordeal, they will sometimes keep others at a distance for fear of experiencing more pain in some form. Two individuals whose lives are filled with anguish for these reasons are featured in the fourth book of the 200 Harley Street series. This couple has so much to give others, yet they let no one get too close to them. Lynne Marshall expresses genuine emotions all throughout 200 HARLEY STREET: AMERICAN SURGEON IN LONDON, where every single moment is extremely believable. The Hunter Clinic located at 200 Harley Street in London helps people whose backgrounds vastly differ, and its doctors get much satisfaction aiding those who truly need their help. One would think their skilled surgeons would be very happy, yet sometimes a successful career hides a rather miserable personal life. The main characters in AMERICAN SURGEON IN LONDON may have unlike reasons for feeling low-spirited at times, yet their problems are certainly realistic. Mitchell puts the needs of his daughter before his own, thus dating always involves thoughts of whether the woman and his child would get along. The tragic incident that forever changed Grace makes her think no man will ever be attracted to her again. As these two get to know each other better, they gradually come to understand that inner nature is most important in a relationship. What Mitchell discovers about Grace makes her irresistible to him, and she really likes his unexpected playful behavior. Lynne Marshall has such a gift for creating true-to-life characters, as their every response is so convincing with candid honesty. Their conversations are also intellectual and often contain plenty of sharp wit. I thoroughly enjoyed their back and forth banter. How they conveyed their desire for one another is especially touching, as lust and caring are equally expressed. Ms. Marshall cleverly gives details about other employees at the Hunter Clinic, and I am glad so many are getting to tell their own stories. 200 HARLEY STREET: AMERICAN SURGEON IN LONDON is an emotionally rewarding novel with particularly likable characters and imaginable events.
