One never knows what life has in store for us. I could never have imagined a seventh edition, let alone a revised seventh edition. But the response to PLEASE MOM! IT’S MY LIFE has been so overwhelming from all over the country that one is humbled. The beautiful mails that I have received from children and adults are most touching. Most of them started with “thank you for writing Please Mom … !!! !” As a mere mortal, expectation of some appreciation was natural, but the “thank you” part shook me till my teeth rattled.Some young readers accused me of touching every aspect of life excepting their problem. I informed them that this book is far from complete. It is an ongoing process. It could become an interactive book and their problems would be discussed in subsequent editions (some of which I am discussing in thisedition. I took it upon myself to summarize the book. It turned out to be a tough proposition, if I may say so myself.I was thrilled when captain Sanjay Anand, the Principal of Doon Public School, Panchkula, Haryana, informed me that he had included the book as a part of the compulsory curriculum for their senior classes. It is indeed an honour. There are feelers from other schools as well.
