Description:

Seventeen year-old Veronica “Ronnie” Miller’s life was turned upside-down when her parents divorced and her father moved from New York City to Wilmington, North Carolina. Three years later, she remains angry and alienated from her parents, especially her father… until her mother decides it would be in everyone’s best interest if she spent the summer in Wilmington with him. Ronnie’s father, a former concert pianist and teacher, is living a quiet life in the beach town, immersed in creating a work of art that will become the centerpiece of a local church. The tale that unfolds is an unforgettable story about love in its myriad forms – first love, the love between parents and children – that demonstrates, as only a Nicholas Sparks novel can, the many ways that deeply felt relationships can break our hearts… and heal them.

    “Excellent Book”

This novel is definitely geared toward the younger generation, more than his other novels. I think the fact that he wrote the screen play before the novel kind of takes away from the literature aspect of the novel. Also he seems to strain himself to create a character that the jr. high and high school reader would relate to.On the other hand it is light and the perfect vacation novel to read on the beach, but don’t expect a major twist like his other novels have because it is extremely predictable.

The Last Song By Nicholas Sparks is a very emotional book. It tells the story of Roni, a rebellious teenager who hates her father but is forced to spend the summer with him. It will be a summer full of tests, trials, pain and joy that will change her life forever. I also love the writing style, it’s so real yet poetic. Overall, a wonderful and highly-recommended read.

THE LAST SONG is already in movie post production starring Miley Cyrus as the rebellious Ronnie. With the main character being a teenager, and with subplots of rebellion and first love, THE LAST SONG is a novel that will appeal to a wide audience: teens and adults alike. With the addition of Miley in the title role when the movie is released, THE LAST SONG will find even wider circulation. As with all of Mr. Sparks’ books, expect tears, joy, love, and ultimately redemption and forgiveness for many of the characters. The wonderful characters in THE LAST SONG will stay with you long after the final page is turned.

    Good Read

When young and adventurous Ronnie finds out that she is going to spend the summer with her brother at the beach with their father the least thing she expects is a summer romance.
A summer of forgiveness, mistakes, first loves and sadness, this book will keep you at it and won’t disappoint you.
The story is beautifully written, heart-wrenching, tear jerker and seriously addictive.
Nicholas Sparks is a magician. He makes you feel all sorts of emotions through his writing. This book is exquisite amd endearing.
